Can Map Sensors Be Cleaned With Electrical Contact Spray ?

Every now and again when driving my 35D I noticed some kind of hesitancy between 1900-2800k. I could not pin indicate. For example, when approaching a roundabout only not fully stopping I would plant my foot (not using kickdown) the revs would rise to most 2500k and around that mark I would feel a short hesitantancy. Its like the car doesnt know what to practice

Another example, on a open dual carriageway I would plant my pes (in third gear) there would be a slight hesitancy whilst the revs rised. It most felt similar clutch slipping, I would hear the engine rev rise but not go whatsoever faster. Equally soon every bit I hitting the 3k rev range and the big turbo kicked in, the car would wing.

Also I noticed when in 3rd or 4th gear, when I floored it (no kickdown) I would notice there would be a slight delay (as to the car thinking what do I practice) and then it would drop a gear and begin to advance only withal not that pinning you to the seat movement.

It had me puzzled for a while because I was sure when I commencement got the car it did not behave like this. I only planted my pes and it would get like a bat out of hell from low rev range.

I thought it maybe be vacuum lines, I had a look at these and I found ii hoses; the braiding had detrioated but no splits in the hose but I replaced them anyhow. This did not make much of a deviation. Adjacent I thought it may be the pressure controllers and was looking to replace both of them. Merely them being eighty each and a new bracket at xiv I decided expect.

I plugged in my INPA and scanned for codes and got the code for the boost pressure sensor. Subsequently a in depth research on the cyberspace I constitute the heave pressure sensor to be the MAP (Manifold accented force per unit area sensor). This is located on cylinder number 5 on the inlet manifold.

Quoted off wiki

Quote:

The Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor is a key sensor because it senses engine load. The sensor generates a signal that is proportional to the corporeality of vacuum in the intake manifold. The engine computer then uses this information to adjust ignition timing and fuel enrichment

I have ordered a new one (30) which should be with me tommorow. I thought to supplant this commencement before the pressure converters. Driving home tonight, I acceerated at some traffic lights and the hesitancy got quite bad. I came habitation and had a quick look and cleaned the MAP sensor with switch cleaner - The sensor did have a chip of debris within the tubing. I refitted, cleared the code and went out for a quick spin.

I was shocked as soon equally I got out onto a open stretch, say from 30mph in 3rd, I would press the accelerater three/4 of downward and the affair flys from low revs. That feeling of being pinned to the back of the seat is back Fifty-fifty when driving along at 40mph, floor it, information technology doesnt drop down at all similar before it simply goes.

And then I volition exist replacing the MAP sensor tommorow with a new i and cant believe a modest particular similar this can touch on performance.
